Fifth Wheel is Nose High- what issues am I facing

I bought a 2016 Ram 4x4 2500. We went from Illinois to Wisconsin (7 hours driving) to pick up our used 2008 5th wheel.

Well, the trailer is about 7 inches nose high and I was able to raise the pin all the way up and gained about and inc or a little more.

I have right at 6 1/2 inches between the bed rails and the bottom of the trailer.....so, good there.

So, even with the drop of the truck when hitched, its still going to be nose high...ugh

Never having had this issue before, I'm not sure what I am in for....and advice would be appreciated. I may flip the axles when I get home...400 miles away.

I was going to buy a 4x2 truck, but opted for a "great deal" that gave me the 4wd for free...ugh!

Please help!!
  • Flip it. Dexter axle perches are about $45 a pair from etrailer. I did mine myself but you could have a shop do it if you're not comfortable doing it. I got close to 6" of lift.
  • We had a similar problem with our Attitude TH. Ended up flipping the axles. Now sits level.

Seems you have done all the right things to get it better. Doing the axle flip should bring you real close to your goal.
