Fifth wheel question

Look into KZ Durango Golds, lot of 5W for the price.

Would be easier to answer who makes the best diesel tow vehicle! That really is a tough question as quality is subjective. Best to do some footwork and tour as many as you can!

When the wife and I decided it was time to trade the TT for FW, we went to shows and dealerships in our area to get an idea of what it out there. Also, you can go to the manufacturer's websites and get a lot of information on how the units are built. In the end, we went with a Jayco Pinnacle FW for our money. A key thing for us was Jayco's 2 year warranty. All the other manufacturer's only offered 1 year. Keep in mind the warranty on appliances and electronics is with the manufacturer of those components and NOT the RV manufacturer. So make sure the components in your RV are also from quality manufacturers.

We ended up going with a DRV Mobile Suites. It's a heavier 5er with lots of storage, independent suspension and disc brakes. They're heavier because construction is very good and insulation R values are quite high. We're full timing in ours.

My wife and I have been looking but just not financially ready just yet. We looked at a lot of different 5th wheels at the RV show and narrowed it down to two. Jayco Eagle 2 year warranty and the Grand Design Reflection. We liked both and if you go to the Grand Design forum you will not read to many complaints there. Yes they still have issues but it seems Grand Design takes care of the problem to the customers satisfaction

Everyone of them will have it's own problems. They're banging them out at a record pace. For everyone that says theirs is great there's others that complain.
Pick the best floor plan and warranty and go for it.

Bare in mind that quality in the RV industry usually means heavy. Other than weight, things can still go wrong with the highest end 5th wheels since compared to the auto industry with robotics and quality control to stay competitive, the RV companies seem to be more interested in getting the product out the door as quickly as possible.
However, there are a few top remaining companies out there. Double Tree was a great full time rig. I understand they are no longer in business, but many of their near new units are out there on the lots. Carriage is also a good quality rig. The better built they are of course the more you will pay.

I agree with Edd505, Durango Gold by Kz is one of the few that has a warranty for full time living and gives you more bang for the buck.

KZ also has different floor plans in the Durango Gold kine to pick from with tons I mean tons of room with the same appliances and hardware that you find in Grand Deign, Jayco, an DRV Mobile Suites but for far less money :)
