I scaled my truck just before camping last summer. The weight was right at 7000lbs. The scale sheet is in the camper and will have to wait till tomorrow for exact numbers. The camper listed dry weight was 12,023 with a CCC of 2117. Total weight from the brochure is 14,140.
20% of that is 2828. Adding that to the truck weight is 9828lbs. I will need a new truck.
We were at a KOA in Denham Springs LA for November and we saw a lot of Fifth-wheels. For the ones that I thought were large 60% were SRW. It appeared to me that the older rigs were pulled by DRW and the newer ones by SRW. I was surprised at how many 3/4 ton pickups that were towing big fifth-wheels.
I will be checking the parks we go to and future parks to see what they say about length.
One salesman said a 1 ton would be a better choice the other salesman said with a diesel I could pull just about anything on his lot.
