I had a manual slider on my 5th wheel years ago and sold it with the trailer. In researching hitches to get another 5th I think I'm going to go with the same old Reese manual slider. I use to do the same as the poster that just lets it hang from the king pin when not in use. It lift is it out of the truck nicely. There is a bit of in & out of the truck bed to hook and unhook but nothing like having to carry the thing by hand. My back could never handle that.
