- Colbee55Explorer27 1/2 ft Travelair, 8000 lbs empty.
We have been pulling with an '02 Ford 350, short box, crew cab.
Have been running on P22575r15 load range D but have 2 blow outs in the last 2 times I have been out.
I am looking for a good tire not from China if possible. - Splashers3ExplorerI just replaced my Michelin XPS RIBS - I got NINE years out of them....unfortunately, they didn't make it as I am trading in my signature 5ver (which weighs near 12600 lbs)....so the dealer is getting brand new BFGs.
The blow out happened while it was sitting in our driveway....so no damage, and no stress of changing them out, although I did replace all 4, could only do two at a time. The blowout occurred on the tire that carried the most weight and always ran with a higher PSI and Temp - as measured by my TPMS. - Me_AgainExplorer IIIRibs are great for 5200 and 6000 axles.
- azdryheatExplorerAny tire NOT stamped Made in China. FWIW I'm on my 5th season with Michelin XPS RIBS and they still look great.
- I suggest get a tire where the load rating covers the full GVWR.
- JIMNLINExplorer IIIWelcome to the forum....
Help us with the OEM tire size....load range......trailers gvwr.....trailers axle ratings. Some members can give you some good choices.
5th wheel trailers come with 15"/16"/17.5" tires with capacities from 1850 lbs up to 6000 lbs. - Me_AgainExplorer IIIOP first and only post without enough info to provide an answer. So round black ones is about as close as we can get to an informed answer.
- BB_TXNomadBest tires depends on weight of your trailer, wheel size, and wheel air pressure rating as a minimum. Post that info for accurate answers. And ignore the “cute” responses.
