- 80 psi for max load rating. Why not 80 psi? Put them on and air them up. I bet they ride better than ever.

I recommend Goodyear Endurance inflated to 80 psi. New design and made in USA.
27 1/2 ft Travelair, 8000 lbs empty.
We have been pulling with an '02 Ford 350, short box, crew cab.
Have been running on P22575r15 load range D but have 2 blow outs in the last 2 times I have been out.
I am looking for a good tire not from China if possible.
I agree the Endurance is a great tire. The tires he mentioned are "D" rated and only have a 65 psi MAX rating.
If you were suggesting "E" tires with 80psi MAX why inflate to 80psi??? - Colbee55ExplorerWe have gotten quite a few suggestions & will be checking them all out to see which ones would fit òur needs.
Thanks a lot for all the patience & all the helpful replies. - Colbee55Explorer

Thank You. We will look into it. We live in Canada so hopefully we will find someone who carries them. K Colbee55 wrote:

Welcome to the forum....
Help us with the OEM tire size....load range......trailers gvwr.....trailers axle ratings. Some members can give you some good choices.
5th wheel trailers come with 15"/16"/17.5" tires with capacities from 1850 lbs up to 6000 lbs.
Thanks! I finally figured out to reply directly - I think. I will know when I hit "post message" - Colbee55ExplorerJIMNLIN So here's the thing. I am the wife and supposedly the computer literate one. It was recommended I sign up with RV.net as there was a wealth of information here. My husband is the driver & maintenance guy. I am still trying to find my way around the forums, don't know How to reply directly, yadda, yadda.
Thank you to those who have tried to be helpful, JIMNLIN, we will look for the brand's you recommended.
MFL you were right, I misunderstood, it is an ST not PT
BB_TX Thank you for your info. - JIMNLINExplorer III

Not all made in china tires are junk. We have some very high quality P...LT...and ST tires out here.
But yes some made in china tires have been junk tires better made for around town lawn service trailers or a utility trailer that gets used a few times making trips to Lowes/etc.
There are no P225/75-15 D load range tires....P tires don't come with a C/D E ratings and have max pressure ratings in the 44-51 psi range.
Most likely you have ST225/75-15 D at 65 psi and 2540 lbs capacity. MFL gave you some good ST tire brands which are the new gen higher speed rated tires. The Provider ST class tires have been around since the '10 era and have been top rated on haulers websites and come OEM on a couple RV mfg.
We don't have any 15" LT tires left anymore as 1/2 ton trucks don't use them so tire makers have dropped them over the years. Some of the brands mentioned come only in 16" and larger sizes. In years past with all ST tires not being very reliable many trailer owners switched to 16" LT tires if there was room in the wheel wells. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Best tires depends on weight of your trailer, wheel size, and wheel air pressure rating as a minimum. Post that info for accurate answers. And ignore the “cute” responses.
"Cute responses" really??? This is what the gentleman said "What kind of tires for the 5th wheel seem to hold up the best?"
How can anyone answer that??? That could be answered MANY ways.
Before posting simply read what you have written, will I get a good response with the info I am providing??? - MFLNomad IIAre you sure you have P type tires? For that trailer wt, and size tire, I would recommend one of the newer style ST tires. They are cooler running, allowing a higher speed rating, and nylon wrapped for durability. The choices are Provider ST225/75R15, Carlisle HD (same size), or made in US GY Endurance. A load range D is sufficient for your wt, or a load E, for added capacity. I would run them at full sidewall pressure 65#s for D, or 80#s for E-rated.
