Does anyone know of a newly manufactured fifth wheel that is no longer than 25 feet (end to end)? We bought a Terry 245L fifth wheel (25') in 2002 and have thourghly enjoyed our many travel adventures. Now 13 years later we would like to purchase a replacement rig and have not been able to find a small, new fifth wheel that will fit in my 26' driveway. Any names or links would be appreciated. Thx

The only one I know of is the 19 ft ScampNorthwoods has a Fox Mountain that is 27 ft. LinkAs short as a couple years ago there were several lines, but the trend is away from "small" rigs.

You might check and see if Lance is making a fifth wheel. Scamp is really small, I don't know how anyone can enjoy camping in that!Good luck!Fred.

Escape makes a 21' FW http://escapetrailer.com/trailers/the-5-0-escape/. Being fiberglass they are pricey for the size. Last I looked there is about an 8 month wait. Like the Scamps they are a niche market, too small for most.

In that size range, travel trailers make more sense. About the only advantage is the 5th wheel pulls a little nicer but the travel trailers are small enough that it's not a big issue. Plus with the reduced storage space, having the truck bed free to carry other stuff is a big advantage.This doesn't mean you don't have valid reasons for wanting one but that is likely why manufacturers aren't bothering with them.

25' 5th wheel will be tough to find. My 245RL is 26.5' tip to tail.

Thanks for all the suggestions and advice. It still amazes me that that more shorter rigs aren't available. I couldn't of gone to many wonderful camp grounds with a bigger trailer. Once you tow a fifth wheel, you never want to go back. I'll keep on looking for the right one. Cheers!

This Jayco unit is 26' long. I've been considering one. It also comes with a hitch intended for towing doubles.
