The contact area where hitch slide-bar and trailer king pin can get worn causing slop.
Hitch bolts not properly torqued can allow for 'movement' of hitch cross member and frame
Bed rails not properly torqued can allow for movement
Pin Box bolts not properly torqued can allow for movement
MOVEMENT causes noise/chucking
Lube plate.....that just replaces the need to grease up the hith plate and king pin plate.
Lube allows for those two surfaces to rotate with 1000's LBS. on them while maneuvering.
Worn lube plate would not cause slop.......grinding yes.
