First RV adventure!!

My theory is that you start off with items that will be difficult to get at your destination. In my case it's my prescription drugs. Just about anything else can be purchased in a bind.

Think of the things you use on a daily basis that you can't live without & put those things in. Such as toilet paper, paper towels (if you use them), cups for drinking, plates for eating, basic cookware (if you intend to cook...we do most of our cooking on the grill and take food accordingly), dish detergent, kitchen towels/rags, bathroom towels/washcloths, sheets for the bed etc. Also throw in some chairs for outdoor sitting and grill if you need it and whatever food you intend to eat while gone (some prefer to go to the store when they get to their destination). Otherwise, just pack what you would take when you go to a hotel (clothes, shoes, toiletries etc.) No need to throw in too much of anything. If you forget anything, there is always a store you can go get it. Basic tools are good to carry with you to fix misc things yourself if need be. Oh, don't forget the chocks! Most of all...HAVE FUN!

beer, wine, toilet paper and dog leads

Toilet paper, holding tank chems, duct tape, and a sense of humor! I assume you have drinking water hose, sewer hose, dognut end for hose, large pliers to tighten water connections, small pliers for the cable, and a regular hose for cleaning off the sewer hose?

outside chairs, gas bbq grill. paper plates so you don't have to wash dishes!

I'll give you the standard advice for all travelers. "Bring half as many clothes and twice as much money as you think you need."

Wife, kids and pets! Do not leave without them……We put all our possessions in a U-Haul and left the Bay Area (Redwood City) and moved to Boise in '78. Have fun and enjoy RV'n

A spot in a Walmart Supercenter lot for the first night no that you can run inside & get what you forgot.

This time of year, bring an electric space heater (unless you're dry camping). Our first trip out in our MH, the furnace failed and we had to go home a day early.
