Flex Mend Belly Repair tape

Anyone tried this to repair torn Darco tyvek type material?

Moderator edit to change thread title to matter being discussed.

  • I tried it in a small area. Did no adhere very well. Wore off where the rollers contact. Rest was flaking off.

It is cheap so give it a try. You may be more successful.

There is a kit available to cover the damaged Darco. I may try to get a couple. I had good success with cutting the bottom of a vinyl gutter and using double sided tape. Installed where the rollers contact on a bedroom Swintek slide.

Go to the Forest River forum and they have a Prime Time site dedicated to the Crusader, May be able to look around without registering.

They have several posts on the slide and Darco failure.
  • Tried it on a top seam of a slide out. So far, so good.
  • Bottom of a slide out. Thanks for all your answers.
  • Anyone tried Flex Mend Belly Repair tape?

This repair is under a slide has nothing to do with roof.

    Thanks for answers

If your talking about the black woven plastic under belly material that you need to repair, the Flex Mend underbelly repair tap should work good for you. It isn't cheap stuff to use, ($50 a 4"x 180' roll) but once you stick it on it isn't coming off. Don't buy a cheap imitation, get the real thing. Oh yeah, make sure what your sticking it to is clean...

    I bought from here...http://www.mobilehomerepair.com/shield.htm

I see you have a Crusader. Well know issues with the Darco wrap being damaged on the under side of slide. Have you joined the Forest River Primetime Crusader forum? Lots of information there and their is a kit for repair. I haven't had any issues with my main slides but the rollers on my bedroom Swintek slide has damaged the Darco on the bottom of the slide. I cut the bottom of a piece of PVC gutter and used double sided tape to hold in place.

Flex Mend belly tape will stick BUT it will also become damaged and has a tendency to bunch up creating more problems.
