Flex Armor

Thinking about getting Flex Armor installed on my motorhome.  Just curious if anyone with solar panels on the roof had this done and how did it affect the installed solar panels and wiring.

  • FlexArmor works fine as long as the panels and wiring are removed or properly lifted during application. Spray over panels in place is risky, and adding panels afterward can void the roof warranty.

  • FlexArmor won’t fry your solar if done right. Remove panels first, prep wiring, spray, then reinstall using no-drill mounts or L-brackets, never screw directly into the coating.

  • Assuming that the solar panel mounts are there for good and not getting changed again during the life of the roof, seems like a great application to have a continuous sprayed membrane over all the mounts and roof penetrations.
What potential problems are you thinking there might be?

  • It would seem impossible to spray the solar panels as it would be impossible to spray the sealant without removing them. No?

  • It's a spray on product and the cover/tape off things they don't want the product on. I cannot fathom them spraying the solar panel. That would be pretty dumb. Have you tried contacting the company directly and asking them?

How exactly would you spray under a solar panel that is mounted near the roof?  It’s not like they’re mounted a ft higher than the roof.

No idea. I thought the original post was a bit silly actually since I am certain calling the company that installs this could tell you how it's done with solar panels in about 20 seconds. Moot point anyway. OP seems to post and ghost every 3 years.
