when I was looking for a truck, I had my eye on the 2012 Ford F350 SRW with the 6.7 diesel, and the ability to tow a certain weight.
When I stopped at the Dodge dealer and expressed my wish to tow a certain weight, his recommendation (and only recommendation) was the Ram 3500 Dually. I did not want a dually as I have driven them in town-not much fun. His final comment was "but we're so much cheaper than the Ford"...
I have found that in order to have a product be "cheaper" than it's main competitor, there has to be something cut-either features or quality..
I bought the Ford F350 SRW and am completely happy----just mu .02
