We owned a 2001 Cardinal by Forest River which we purchased used back in 2003 from the original owner. This past February we traded the Cardinal for a 2015 Cedar Creek Silverback 29RE. We had planned to trade the Cardinal for a 2012 Silverback 29RL, but while prepping the unit the dealer discovered water damage in the slides. They said they'd fix it, but we didn't want it.
We ended up with the new Silverback 29RE and have been pleased thus far. Our Cardinal was a great unit and that's why we stuck with Forest River. Plus we liked the quality and the floorplan.
As with any used unit you definitely want to check it over thoroughly. An earlier poster included a clicky about a 2012 Silverback with water damage in the slides. I would certainly hope that if there was an issue with the slides and leaking water, as we found in the used unit we almost purchased, Forest River corrected whatever the problem was.
