Forest Rivers biggest problem is this: They have at least 75 PRODUCT LINES and within each product line, THERE IS A MINIMUM OF 4-7 FLOORPLANS!! That's just insane!
That's an insane number of RV's trying to be manufactured, fit and finished and prepped for sale. They're trying to cater to everybody, which is a lousy business model for an RV manufacturer to follow.
Forest River should take a lesson from my Great Grandfather, stop spreading themselves so thin and stop trying to cater to every Tom, Dick & Harry. Forest River would do well to cut their production to maybe 4-6 different "brands" with a subsection of maybe 7 floorplans per RV.
My Grandfather who was a building contractor and a master stone mason always told us, "find one thing to do and do it right."
This is why I love Lance so much. They make 1 line of Truck Campers with 11 floorplans and they make 1 line of Travel Trailers with exactly 9 different floorplans - THAT'S IT!! And 99% of Lance parts are interchangeable with other models.
Lance has managed to find one thing to do and they do it very well, so has CampLite Aluminum Trailers, etc.
My 2 cents,
