Very nice, yes, but then I would have all the new smells to deal with. We did look for used mobile homes, but none for sale for quite a radius. - Traveler_IIExplorer

I like the "Cottage", after years of traveling all over the place and 5 different RV's in retirement we are planning to take our present rig to Arizona an setting it up permanently, selling our truck. If we like staying put maybe we will look at getting something like this, more room and we really won't need a rig with self leveling, disk brakes, air hitch, and IS suspension. If we don't like the place we're at it would be easy to move it to another. Thanks for the post. - Sport45Explorer II

Thanks for the idea, but our top priority is not travel. We need a place to live in for a year while our house is being completely gutted and remodeled.
Have you considered a mobile home? You might be able to set up a used one at your place and tie it into your current utilities. Sell it when you're done with the remodel. You'd have much more space than a RV and may well wind up spending less money. - ol_Bombero-JCExplorer

Used to work for a adhesive manufacturer. We put formaldehyde in virtually every adhesive we made. Word of advise don't lick stamps or envelopes.
Also, you are only going to use this RV for a year? House will be built by the time you make a decision. Good luck, John.

Jane one other thing,
If you are uncomfortable about formaldehyde in an RV, even though the gasses in an older rig are long gone, it might be time to re-think about some other way of traveling and enjoying the great outdoors other than in an RV.
Maybe rent a cabin at different RV Parks around the country...a lot of parks will have those and from what I've heard/seen are very nice.
From reading the many different threads you've started you have have received plenty of feedback, and that is why the Forums are so usefull, to make an intelligent buying decision.
In any case please let us know what your choice is and if an RV congrats and safe travels.

I found a solution...when I read the above article about measuring formaldehyde levels, I looked for a meter on Amazon and I found one. The only way to know for certain, is to take the meter along when I go see trailers. I have been ill for a couple of years, so I have to be very careful about chemical and mold exposure.
Yes, many of the people have been very helpful! Every question answered gives me ammunition to make a more intelligent decision!
You'll have fun with that meter during the remodel. :)
Your GC, not so much... - Us_out_WestExplorerWay out in the boonies????
- janegowestExplorerI wish we COULD rent a house. We looked, but there are none in our area, as we live waaaay out in the boonies.
Never mind. I have come up with the solution. The meter will tell me whether the trailer will be safe to live in. If not, we can keep looking until we find one.
