fresh water sensor

our TH is not even 2 years old yet, it sat for about 6 months, we had too much going on to go out. now my fresh water sensor will only read empty. my black does the same too, after a weekend trip with 4 people i thought it was at least go up to 1/3. grey seams to be working just fine.
is there something easy to check that might fix the problem so i dont have to take it to the dealer?
  • On the fresh, check for a loose wire... my fresh tank has the "sensors" pre installed, but not wired up - the sensors are just stainless steel screws through the side of the tank, four of them in a diagonal line up the side.

in the black, debris is notorious for fouling the sensors, a spray wand might dislodge debris temporarily but it'll foul up again soon enough.

thank you! ill try and get under there when i get home from work. hopefully i can figure it out quick before i need to take it back to storage
  • Another thought, ours did not work either. It turns they were connected but the insulation was never stripped from the wires.

ours did work just fine, now after awhile they didnt. thank you for the advice another thing to look out for when i get under it
  • typically the sensors on most RV's are junk. I had the same issue then I came across these Horst sensors, all you have to do is replace the sensor into the existing hole and everything works like it should from the factory. I replaced my Black and grey sensors, but I haven't yet replaced the fresh water sensors. Black/grey work great now!
