Frig issue

Norskeman, personally, I wouldn't have accepted this during the PDI, and I =defintely= wouldn't have accepted a "fix", only a new fridge. This shows how bad the FACTORY QC really is, as they should have never even accepted that unit when it was unboxed there. I'd be at my dealer's door ASAP and tell them that you want a new fridge, and won't accept any "fix". If that means they have to pull a fridge out of another new RV, then that's up to them to decide, but you won't be waiting weeks for a new one to be sent to you.

I'll bet a donut that in the best case resolution of this problem the rig will sit on the dealers lot most of the summer...:( :( :(

Evidently the dealer didn't check things very closely before delivery. Don't mess with it, it is their problem to fix. If you mess with it, it will become your baby. There may be more than what appears to the eye.

You can't just move the fins to cover the hole as the cooling pipe brackets this attaches to obviously need to line up. The fridge needs to come out and probably another cooling unit installed with the steel and molded foam block they sit in hopefully a little better aligned. Personally I would demand a new fridge

The frig cools down good but moisture will get behind the area and cause problems in the future. Thermal Mastic sealant is placed on the evaporator section and the fins are attached to it with 7 screws. Found the info on pages 69-72 of the service manual. Have contacted the RV dealer and Norcold/Thetford.

Now that I see the picture it's a little more clear. Don't mess with it. Just drive it back to the dealership and hope that's the worst of your problems. Good luck!
