JohnBoyToo, I've tried them from 5 up and 9 seems to help the most.
I've tried putting 200 lbs in the rear of the truck, helped some but not enough. As I said earlier, when watching the trailer in the mirrors you can see it rocking or at least the rear of the trailer is going up and down which in turn takes pin weight off the truck which then causes the bouncing, at least that is my theory. When it warms up I am going to craw under the trailer and check everything and will probably change the shocks on it too. I've fought this problem since last year when I bought the trailer, can make it better but not completely fix it, actually I can make it worse but probably no better now than it was with everything stock on the truck. IMO.
