Full Body Paint Heat Issues?

For anyone out there that has full body paint on their TH, is it pretty tough to keep them cool in the summer time? Had the guy at Holman's tell me that down south a lot of the guys dont want the full body paint since its so hard to keep cool. Wasn't sure if that was a little exageration since he didnt have any full body paints on the lot or more truth.

  • Are they telling you with any full body paint or just darker ones? Many often have a pearl color option or something lighter. Living in the desert myself I wouldn't go for a black, but pearl or sandstone color would be ok.
  • I would say yes. Our MH has dark color. Maybe only a mind thing.
  • Common sense says yes. There are numerous other threads on here about keeping large haulers cool with the available sizes of A/C units. As stated black gets HOT in the sun. Ever wonder why ski boats rarely have black seats? As a kid I remember sitting in friend's flat bottoms with black seats and always sitting on towels.
  • White trailers and white trucks for me....maybe boring, maybe not as showy, but practical.
  • I don't have a Th but I can tell you my dark paint will burn your hands and I see temps over 150 all the time. I use an infared gun. White would definitely be easier to keep cool.
