Fuzion? worth it? or just hype?...

WOW - you are going to start a war with those questions!! I will throw my $.02 in before the shooting starts.

I have a 2012 Fuzion FZ310. I had a 2011 Ford F250 with air bags and a sliding 5th wheel and only 18k miles on the truck. I pulled this Fuzion twice for a total of maybe 400 miles and decided to trade a perfectly good truck because I did not feel safe with a 3/4 ton single rear wheel (SRW as opposed to a dual rear wheel DRW) tow vehicle for this massive RV.

To answer your question - YES, a 3/4 will pull that Fuzion. You will HAVE to use a sliding hitch though if you turn sharp at all. If I did not slide my hitch, I could bring the RV into the truck going forward at full turn radius. Sliding the hitch did fix this and the rig was very manuverable.

You MUST install an air bag system or similar to boost up the truck as the pin weight on a Fuzion 310 is about 2800 lbs. BEFORE you even put blankets on the beds. Loaded up for a camping trip will get the pin weight over 3000 lbs and a 3/4 ton truck can not handle this without help.

Lastly, a gasoline engine may pull this rig but you will want a diesel as soon as you can get one. The Fuzion is over 13 feet tall and developes a lot of wind drag at speed. Gas motors just can't cut that kind of load not to mention the transmissions they put in a lot of gas burners.

The Fuzion is a very nice camper. So are many other brands too. NONE of them are worth the price we pay however but as long as we buy them, they will sell for ridiculous money!!

I compared 3 brands I liked and selected the Fuzion after seeing minor things in the other two that kinda turned me off. You may like a Cyclone better for any number of reasons. It's all about what you want and like - not me or any other poster here. We are not going to make your payments so get the one you like. Most are about the same as far as quality goes (they suck). I do believe the JayCo line is prolly best quality but I'm sure others will disagree. JayCo has best warranty. The floor plans are nice too.

If you buy any new toy hauler in 5th wheel you will prolly be wanting/needing a newer diesel truck very soon. You should go forward knowing that. If you get to that point, think strongly about a couple extra thousand bucks and get a dually.

Love my Fuzion and have put many thousands of miles on it. Only been back to the dealer for transfer switch recall and refer recall. No other problems. It's not the top of the line or the bottom of the line but very good. Many other nice brands out there also. Most all will have someone that got a lemon and will trash the brand. What ever you decide just make sure before you take deliuvery that you have done a through pre delivery check and get everythin in writing. Then go enjoy.

I have an '08 Fuzion 362. Bought it new and it's still going strong. Never had it back to the dealer for any repairs. The only thing that really failed, was the stick-on graphics. They curled and peeled after about 3 years. If you can get full body paint, go for it. The picture below is before graphics removal. Now looking at full body paint or full coverage wrap.

Don’t pay MSRP at the dealer. Search the internet for prices then negotiate. I saw on on-line special from a dealer in Indiana, took the price to my local Tennessee dealer and told them “I’ll pay this amount”, he took my offer, $14k less than MSRP.

LOVE our Fuzion & I do pull it with my Chevy 3/4 w/ the Duramax diesel. Truck has handled wonderfully & I have no complaints on the rig.
The few problem we had were handled without issue at the dealer.

Thanks. I wasn't really thinking the fuzion was t worth the price. But rather was it worth the camper cost AND replacing the truck. I agree, they are ALL overpriced for what we get. I was impressed with it, I just wanted to hear from owners of TH's what their thoughts about them are. I will check out some other brands, some are light enough for my truck. Just didn't want to go through all that effort and money, and be disappointed. All the dealers in New England seem to sell the fuzions as fast as they come in. Just didn't know if it was a fad thing. Don't mean to start any arguments either. I'm sure there are tons of good campers for all different purposes. My rockwood has served me well. I'll probably have to give this some more thought.

Dosen't mean he did'n enjoy it. I love mine but everytime I go to an RV show I find something new on the new models that I want. The manufactors do this to keep us coming back. :)

In laws wanted it more than the wife did. She wants a new layout. :)
