Gap in the 2nd deck moulding when hooked

I have an Keystone Avalanche 2011 , 38'for 4.5 years now. Like the unit very much.

A problem developed over time, when I hook it the the pickup, the moulding running from the bottom of the second deck down to the landing gear separate itself from the wall. (see pictures) Here we ca see the gap

When I un-hook it return to its place.

Is this normal ? Can it be fix ? Any idea at what cost ? Is this dangerous (I doubt it) ?

I added long screws but didn't do anything...
  • I think the "chin" needs to be pulled-off and the frame pin-ox area checked. That looks excessive to me. Dangerous? Most definitely if the frame is cracked or a weld is broken then it's only going to get worse.
There are plenty of posts on this forum as well as others about fifth wheel pin box issues. Just my 2 cents, but I would definitely have it checked. Good luck, Phillip
  • The frame needs to be inspected for sure. I would bet the damage will show up close to the pin box area, good luck.
