Another reason to use LP :B Kidding aside sounds like it might have had some stale gas in it before you bought it? The new blend with Ethanol really shortens its shelf life, and to some degree engine life.
When you get back home go to Cummins Northwest for proper service. Most all RV dealers I've deal with were jack of all trades, and masters of none.
