I used a Generac XL 4K(5000 surge) with my 35ft Jayco FW.A very reliable generator but also very loud.I also have a Onan 4k installed in my motorhome..Also pretty loud and very temperamental.I also have two Honda's I use with my 30ft trailer,one the 2k and the other the 3K,both inverter style and very quiet and reliable.The honda 2k runs a window air conditioner with ease and the 3k runs the rv 13,500 air also with ease.
If I had to choose just one,the Honda 3K gets the nod..Quieter than the 2k Honda..The Honda 2k has a reputation of lasting 10-15,000+ hours with proper maintenance.I have not seen that with others at a lesser price.You get what you pay for!
Generac has a new IQ 2000 gen set now, reportedly quieter than the honda 2k..If it is anything like the generac 4k XL I have,it's a great unit to consider being $2-300 less than the honda.
