Nice work looks great.
All of you with your opinion on if it will hold or if you would drive behind them bla bla bla. We hear this all the time on here.
You know what i have never heard on here????????
My rack broke and i lost my generator or i lost my bikes or i lost ????
Nor have i ever seen it in 30 years of driving.
Im sure you can go find a post about the frig on while driving and tell us how you don't do that either.
As you can tell i don't like negativity when someone dose a job well done.
ok i will step down now
What you may mistake as negativity may just save someone damage to possessions or worse.
That said, this rack looks great.
My brother(5th wheel) was pulled over in VA on I-81 on a trip south to FL at 2am. The officer advised my brother to remove what was left from the bike rack breaking and dragging the bikes on the ground for who knows how long. You should have seen the mess. What started as 3 bikes was barely recognizable. Luckily no-one was hurt.
As a result, I would never recommend that anyone use a hitch/receiver type on the back of a trailer. Too much movement.
A bolt on type as shown in this thread or a held on eliminates the biggest problem(sway).
As I said, this unit looks awesome, and I was thinking about making something like this for my Honda 3000. Now I have an idea to work off of. Thanks for posting this!
