Well my two cents or even a dollars worth! I have built six generator storage platforms some of which are or were enclosed. Three of which for previous travel trailers, totaling over 12 years of traveling and two on family member fifth wheels, and now the second of two on Fifth Wheels of mine. The existing one has over 18,000 and 140 days of travel / camping. Make sure they are secure and built right. NO ISSUES. I have seen a bunch of them on trailers and in my opinion, the once not lucky may have had some tie down issues or something that contributed to the bouncing etc. that's me.
