Way ahead of you on this one. Part of our home plans include wiring for and putting a generator on the house to run everything.
What I would like to have for now is a generator that we can specifically move around and take with us in the Fifth Wheel should we ever need it.
Since you're talking about using it later on, you're pretty much locked into a quiet inverter-style generator; Honda, Yamaha, etc. 3k =minimum=, and that will run the A/C and charge the battery(ies), but not much else. I'd want a 3500-4000w to be comfortable. Frankly, unless you're well-shaded, one A/C is just barely going to keep you comfortable.
