- ReneeGExplorerLook up. Be aware of what's around you as well as what's up wherever you drive. Manually measure the height of your FW, write or type it on a piece of paper and tape it to the inside upper left of your front windshield. You may know the height today, but can easily forget it when you need it the most.
Swing - be aware of the swing of the end of your FW when turning. You'll avoid a lot of damage this way. - grizz272ExplorerI plan to watch this thread. We will get our fifth-wheel when the new truck gets to the dealer. GM delivery sucks.
- stickdogExplorer5ers travel on the inside of a turn unlike a pull behind that follows the tow vehicle.
- greendeExplorer IIYou have probably already found that hitches are in the "eye of the beholder". You will get tons of opinions. I have a B&W and love it. If you have a short box, consider a slider. If weight is an issue, there are many here that have the Anderson. Good luck and congrats on your new 5er.
- Watch the payload rating of the truck not just the tow rating.
- markcExplorerI kept reading about hitches probably good with that for now. Now making the change from pull behinds to a 5th wheel what words of wisdom would you give?
