IMHO, if you are in the washes, it's never "nuts". It will be moderately busy that week, it's pretty popular because kids are out of school. It will be really busy by New Years. Most people will arrive late Thursday or Friday with the 31st being Saturday, if you are leaving Thursday you won't see most of the traffic.
