. Diesel is about out as well, that stinkin dpf box the design people placed is in the worse spot possible.
The DPF is hidden under the truck, completely out of view.... how is that a bad location for it?- USMC2010ExplorerEntirely up to you but there are not a lot of lightweight 5th wheel options and knowing how mine handles the weight I wouldn't want to try it.
- gattorgetterExplorerTop,
I hadnt really thought much about a bumper pull.....maybe I may have to. - USMC2010ExplorerI have a 2002 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 extended bed with a gas 6.0 motor and automatic transmission. For almost 8 years I carried a Lance camper that weighed 3200 pounds wet but was probably closer to 3500 most of the time. If you go by the sticker and take all of the other passenger weights and add to cargo I can carry 3200 pounds, tow max is 10,200. I also had bigger tires to allow for the extra weight. I would struggle up hills going as low as 45 but not running the rpm's high. MPG as low as 7 but often around 10. We just sold it in December and now I have a hitch pull toyhauler that has a max weight of 9980. I went back to stock tire size to hopefully regain some mpg. We went out over New years weekend nearly fully loaded and I could climb at 50mph but again, not pushing the rpms all the way up. Mileage is ranging from 7-10 still. I hope this helps you in your questions. It is a great truck but if you have the option for something more powerful you should not hesitate. I would not attempt to pull a 5th wheel with it.
- gattorgetterExplorerWhat more would you like? Seat and paint color? Air freshner? Options for a 2500 much like 3500 are limited gas or diesel, auto trans.....

If you really wanted specific information, you should have given better information then "GM 2500"
Well my question was specific, 2500 not 3500 not ford or dodge. Sure wentthe 3500 route fast. Had i plan to purchase about a 3500 i would have asked as such. Feel free to lock it down already got out of hand. - RinconVTRExplorer

RinconVTR as a non-regular to the forum let me give you some insight. Over the years, many years, many of the regulars here know how many people have under-purchased a truck only to be caught with buyers remorse or worse a dangerous setup being way over loaded. Toy Haulers unlike other TT/5ers are notorious for being very tongue heavy and heavy over all. I was one of those owners at one point myself.
This is also a bit of a wild, yet well-intentioned and informed bunch. Perhaps the "LOL" was missed when you read lincster's comment about working for GM. I don't think any offense was meant; its sort of the age old GM/Ford/Dodge teasing that goes on. In the end nobody really cares, once people are out on the trails then the debate changes to Motorcylces vs ATVs ;)
While you may not like all the posts, on an open forum it happens.
Specific questions help to keep things on topic, but when it comes to what truck and toy hauler are good, it's an open can of worms. Folks were trying to be helpful by asking for some more information.
Hey Bud, I don't know what your intention is here, but don't you dare lecture me and label me a non-regular as if I am acting as a troll just because you're a mod here.
I've been a part of forums before they were forums...since 1992. So I'm pretty sure I know what etiquette is and what on topic really means.
The responses here have not on topic nor are helping the OP answer his original question. I posted my opinion about it and you posted yours. Very productive.
Have a great day. - gattorgetterExplorerWell my question was specific, 2500 not 3500 not ford or dodge. Sure wentthe 3500 route fast. Had i plan to purchase about a 3500 i would have asked as such. Feel free to lock it down already got out of hand.

If you have those two things, he wanted to hear from you.
Instead, people bash his intentions and even bash where he works. Now its a truck debate? NO...ITS NOT.
Post some relevant information for this guy, OR DONT POST.
