We just are not going see OE tires with a rating less then 3850 on 7K axles ,that was my point. Goodyear has one tire now as you mention 255/85/16 its 33.07" tall ,maybe a fitment problem with it ,and most of these fifth wheels come 6" wide rims, the 255 requires 6.5", again they are doubtful for an OE on any new fifth wheel.
We can put the G614, and the Endurance 235/85/16 ,and the 255/85/16 , and get away with them as far as not overloading, you are not seeing many fifth wheels with GVWR over 16,500 with two 7K axles minus pin weight ,its hard pressed to get much more then 3500 on a tire, that would probably be the extreme, but thats not what requires the tire to be its 110% of axle rating ,not actual.
Those Goodyears will work, are they legal, no . Will the tire cop get you ,no. Are tire stores supposed to put on a tire that equals or exceeds the 110% of axle rating, yes they are.
