Goodyear G614 Tires

I am pricing out Goodyear G614 Tires for my 5er. Wow - prices have really gone up on these tires.

  • Camping World = $373.00 each
  • Discount Tire = $349.00 each
  • Purcell Tire = $353.00

The best price I have found was at http://www.simpletire.comwww.simpletire.com which was $314.99 each.

Any other suggestions? I am fine with an online retailer.

For people that purchased in the last 90 days, what did you pay and where?

Thanks,
Chris

Had thought about those but wanted some feedback on them. Any other Sailun users out there? What has your experience been?

    Thanks!

  • X2 on the Sailun S637, I have mine for 2+ years and they look like new. Never had the first problem yet. Have approx 10,000 miles on them.
  • The Sailun seems like a worthy alternative but I could not get them from a retailer in our area. Like someone else mentioned, by the time you pay shipping they will be close enough to a GY 614 that I opted for the GY. I bought new 614's less than a month ago at Camping World...they were $304. Plus I was given a $25 rebate from Good Year per tire. The 614's ended up costing $279 each. Of course, tax and mounting was additional but the price was still quite good.

Depending on your rig, the Hankook F19 is another option. Although they call them G rated they are only 3330 lbs making them shy for 7K axles.
  • just remember to add in the shipping... mounting...balancing when looking at the online numbers.. They look real good until it's time to get them put on.. I have not looked at them lately , but a few years back I needed to replace 2 on the road and had to pay close to $400 each.. OUCH

Per the link you provided - -
    Tires - $319.99 ea.
    residential shipping - $19.05 ea.
    total - $339.04
    tax - 79.82 or $19.95 ea.
    grand total-$357.99 ea.

Then add mounting and balancing locally... Just make sure you are apples to apples
  • Lots of trailering folks (including RVs) have gone over to the Sailun S637 in the LT235/85-16 G load range at 3750 lb capacity for their heavy trailers.
They are a commercial grade all steel ply carcass tire for the commercial truck industry. They work fine for RV also.

    From their website;

    Applications:
    •Pickup & Delivery Trucks
    •Intrastate & Interstate Buses
    •Regional Trucks
    •Long Distance Trucks
    •Tractor Trailers
    •Low Platform Trailers
  • Are they really necessary? If so and you have 8K axles and 8 lug wheels you might consider upgrading to 17.5 inch tires and wheels.
