The GY G tires that came on our Mobile Suites were made in the middle of 07, they never had a flat or a problem at 5 years I replaced them with GY H 17.5" tires. With the MS the GY tires were being ran near their capacity, I like the extra margin. I also went from GY E to GY G in 07 on our Avion and nearly 5 years later they were looking great when we traded the Avion for the MS.
From the stories like NC's where GY has gone above and beyond I would not even think of using any other tire. Gy has had a great reputation since 07 with their G tires.
Yea count me in also on the USA over China bandwagon!
I've been on these forums for more than a few years and am as "anti-China" tires as one can get....BUT, having seen the Quality and Management criterion that this particular manufacturer has met and qualified for,
"Sailun has secured a number of international accreditations such as ISO9001 Quality Management System Certification, ISO14001 Certificate of Environmental Management System, ISO/TS16949 Certificate, and Certificate for China Compulsory Product Certification, EU ECE certificate, US DOT certificate, INMETRO certificate of Brazil, SIRIM certificate of Malaysia and SOCAP certificate of Nigeria."
I will, at the least, look at this ONE (1) China manufactured tire. You HAVE to maintain set quality standards year after year after year, just like my company. I know what goes into achieving the above criterion and it means you have strict quality standards set in place. you can't buy the above accreditations, you have to EARN them, and when you do, you're telling the manufacturing world that you belong and that you're a serious competitor, that your QUALITY it "top of the line".
I haven't jumped on the band wagon promoting China manufactured tires...you would really have to hunt to not buy ANYTHING made in China....their tires are a joke, BUT...this ONE tire, the Sailun tire, knowing what I know about manufacturing, has gotten my attention and I will watch how others report on their Sailun tires and use their testimonials as well as seeing if Sailun can maintain their ISO certifications......IF they can, they are the ONLY viable China manufactured tire that I would look at....
