No rails like a 5er hitch has...just a ball in the pickup bed which is removable and mounted to the frame underneath. A 5er hitch is easier to couple for sure, but hooking up to a gooseneck ball it no more difficult than hooking up to a TT...in fact a little easier as you can see it in the bed of the pickup. I can get it *almost* always on my first try but it took some practice. I was really good at it by the end of the summer! ;)
