I don't know whether GD products are more or less troublesome than any others but I will say their customer service has been first class. In our experience, they get involved and follow things up to make sure problems have been dealt with.
- gaflickExplorerI agree with the first class service comment. I have a 27RL. Our problems have been component related or Anderson Valve problems and not assembly problems.
gaf - path1ExplorerLast year we had one back in next to us. It looked really, really good as far as RV's go. But here is something to check...Make sure the sewer connections are easy to get to. One parked next to us was brand new (last year) To hook up the sewer hose the guy had to lay on his back to connect. Connection was about 10 inches or foot from edge to the inside, underneath. Of all the places to lay on your back I don't want to do that at a dump site.
I doubt it is still a problem because I could see many people complaining about that quick. Easy fix, just add a slip on valve or maybe even two. But "what were they thinking" when they put it there? - Second_ChanceExplorer IIWe've been full-time in our 337RLS for about six months, now. We're very happy with it. The only issues we've had (as mentioned above) have been with non-GD components (electric fireplace, Anderson water valve). It's the perfect floorplan for us and in a profile/weight range that our truck can handle.
Rob - grampscamperExplorerWe found a floorplan that worked best for us and was in our price range. We think the Reflection line offers great value. We've spoken to many Grand Design owners that are very pleased with their purchase. I think it's extremely rare to find one that is unsatisfied.

Just like every other brand out there, some are happy and some are not. - Poppy_s_5th_WheExplorerYou can find complaints about every single brand of RV made. We're on our 6th. 3 I bought new, 3 I bought used. We've enjoyed them all but our new Reflection 337RLS is our favorite. We've had no major issues. We've even escaped some of the better known issues, specifically problems with the Kant-leak system that many claim "does-leak".
So do I think it's the best RV ever built? That would be ridiculous of course. We've had ours just over a year and the only thing the dealer had to repair under warranty was the rear emergency escape window and a stuck stabilizer both caught during our PDI.
That's not to say other things haven't needed to be tweaked by my but that's the case with any and every RV. Just too much going on rolling down the road. We have over 20,000 towed miles on ours.
So anyway, you're doing your homework and that's good.

Times 100! Grand Design is THE BEST at customer service! We own a Solitude, and as stated a few component issues, a quick call to GD is all it took! They will walk you thru a work around, find a GD dealer near you, or arrange to get it fixed! I am sure even the priciest of the 5th wheel manufacturers have issues, but how do they respond to those issues? GD stands behind their products and are 100% committed to Customer Satisfaction!
