I understand those that think the actual weight is more important than the capable weight; However, you can not know if your actual (GVW) exceeds the limits, if you do not know your maximum (GVWR). Might not be a big thing for ALL people (chances are no one will ever question you on the road considering such), but for those that are riding heavy----want to stay within limits-----KNOWLEDGE is a powerful thing.
In states where registration/license can be determined by weight classes----the capability (GVWR) is more important than the actual (GVW), because the registration/license is determined by the capability, not the actual.
