I've got a new fifth wheel sitting at the dealer. I too read about Chinese tire horror stories day after day. Unfortunately, they also come on boat trailers, and my pontoon boat trailer also has "will pops."
My 16" Bridgestone R250's are on order from Costco for $195 each. That's substantially lower than any other prices I've found.
It's a shame American manufacturers cannot build a good RV/Marine trailer trailer tire for a fair price--and in sufficient quantities to service the entire trailer industry.
$800 is a small price to pay for a Bridgestone tire with such a great reputation.
