You can also step up to a 1 ton (350/3500) SRW, and have even more choices.

It just scares me to death the number of 1/2 ton owners that thing Air bags and Super Springs, solve the issues of the Semi floating 5 to 7 lug rear axles under the load they are putting on it. Wait until they see one of their rear tires passing them on the highway.

That's true..
But to be fair, It's not just 1/2 tons.....I have seen an awful lot of 3/4 ton trucks pulling huge toy haulers that are way over loaded too!
We have a friend who does that. Very scarry!

It seems as though the only education people get about towing is on this site and that is a very small percentage of the people out there towing.

Forrest River has the Reese pin box standard and I'm a little biased but not so sure the Jayco is best. I see a lot of Rockwood/Flagstaff products on the road.

It will be hard to find a bunkhouse small enough to be H/T towable. That Forest River looks like it will sleep 6, but some privacy is lost.

I just saw that the Jayco Eagle HT line does have a bunkhouse model, so I stand corrected.

i'm really hard set on a bunkhouse... with kids... and always traveling with friends... gotta have the sleep space... especially with the extra head in the back...

Figure on adding about 250 lbs to the pin weight when loaded and 1200 lbs to the total weight. I finally weighed after a year and it was heavier than I thought, but it tows and handles well. 5000 miles towing so far.
The Jayco has a Reese Revolution pin box as an option. That eliminates any worries about hitting the back of the cab on a short bed.
We loved the Jayco Eagle 29.5RKS, but the 1700 lb pin weight scared me away. We found the Cougar High Country with the same floor plan and 300 lbs less pin weight. Still too heavy for my specs (the HD Payload package would have made it good), but the SuperSprings and Bilsteins make it ride well. Weight police: yeah, I know.

X2 on the 8528RKWS or the Rockwood 8280WS. Both the same units just different trim levels and you can save big $$$ on the Rockwood at R V Wholesalers. These 5ers and the F150 (properly equipped) are a very good match.
