We have 2 remotes (liked the first one, we ordered a second) for our 2009 Cedar Creek Silverback and use them all the time. One stays in the trailer, the other in the truck.
They operate the slides, awning, front stabilizers, and door/stair lights.
Very helpful when hooking up, DW uses as I back up. We have the bedsaver, and the trailer needs to be raised slightly first, before lowering down...they are handy.
