We've been looking at both The Hartford and Travelers.
I've wanted to step away from Allstate for some time because we can't seem to get an agent that will stay put.
Our premiums and coverages are fine with Allstate even though I mostly work with them through their website.
Since you are in CA - check with Wawanesa. HQ in San Diego, NO agents, annual policies only.
Insure RVs and vehicles.
Apples to apples (exact same coverage) - beat my Progressive South Dakota Policy, a re-write by Progressive to CA, and USAA.
The first time I was with Wawanesa (still in CA at the time), I was in AAA to register a vehicle.
Gal asked if they could give me an insurance quote (which is "SOP" at AAA).
Told her I had given AAA the opportunity recently (true), and the agent gave it his best shot, admitted they couldn't compete.
She said, "Who do you have your insurance with?"
Told her -(the AAA gal behind the counter at AAA)- she replies,
"We applied to them, but they wouldn't insure us because my husband uses his car for business".
Great Wawanesa referral.!!.:W
State Farm has always been steep - or at best a "creeper".
Good claim handling, though.
California Casualty - doesn't creep: First year = low ball, next year "BOHICA"!!
Allstate & Farmers both "PITAs" to deal with if you have a claim.
Unfortunately the one with the funny name is only avail in CA & OR.
(And - no I don't work for them.)
