We have hard water at our home, so water spots are always a pest when washing our vehicles. However, I've recently been using a Rain-X spot free car wash (they label the product as "new" to market...). It kind of puts that Rain-X effect all over the vehicle, where it makes water just fall off.
Anyway, the other day when I got done washing my truck, I had some left over in the bucket. Our front cap was still messy from the bugs on the last trip and was starting to get the green/black mildew-type streaking, so I decided to try the leftover car wash soap on it. It cleaned off real well and gives the same affect. Last night it rained, and this morning the front cap looks nice and shiny.
Just something to consider...
