- donn0128Explorer IIWatch out for? Be sure not un undersize your truck. That appears to be one of the biggest mistakes people make when shopping for a fiver. They buy based on the trailers dry weight.

x2!! At minimum, go for a SRW 1-ton unless you're looking at larger THs; then go for a dually.
Lyle - aruba5erExplorerThe mh is easier to drive and back up. Easier to go at a moments notice. I like the fact that I do not pay insurance and liscense for a very expense vechile that does not get used much. The truck is my daily driver and gives pretty good gas mileage. I like the fact that when we get somewhere , I have a truck to go sightseeing with. Unlike when I had the motorhome I had to disconnect everthing and drive a behemoth to the grocery store or laundrymat. Still miss the old girl though.
- Colo_NativeExplorerI wished I would have stayed with a MH. A lot easier to back up
( I hate backing my FW) . Agree if you think a 3/4 ton will tow it get a 1 ton get more truck than you think. - lanerdExplorer II

That's why God invented toads. - BumpyroadExplorerto have a large enough 5er I would need a massive pick up truck dually that I would be stuck with going around town, back skinny roads, etc. whereas with a class A I towed a 4wd toad that was easy/fun to scoot around with.

I bought a 3500 Dodge diesel C&C with a tow rating of 18000#. I thought that I would not find a camper to heavy for this truck. The first toy hauler we looked at after buying the truck, had a weight of 20000#. You need to do some shopping to get a safe tow vehicle - BumpyroadExplorer

was that 20000 weight the actual weight or GVWR? If GVWR it might have worked.
bumpy - TxGearheadExplorer IIWe've had them all except a TT. Hard to beat a MH with a Jeep behind it.
- TrackrigExplorer IIWe almost bought a 5th, but got a DP instead. I appreciate it especially when we see people with a 5th pulling in and setting up in the rain. We never get outside, just push the levelers and we're good until the weather improves.
