Have You Been Asked About Your RV’s Age When Booking a Campsite? Share Your Story! 🚐

Hi RV.net community,

I’m new to the forum, but not to the RV lifestyle. My wife and I have been full-time RVers for the past four years, sharing our adventures on our YouTube channel, Ramblin Reflections.

Recently, we ran into a surprise: during a reservation inquiry, a campground asked about the age of our RV. Our rig is a 2021, so we were well within their limit—but the question still caught us off guard. After browsing through some older threads here, I realized this topic could use a fresh discussion.

Have you ever been asked about your RV’s age when booking a site?
Did it affect your stay, or change how you handled future reservations?

I'd love to hear your experiences, especially as some campground policies appear to be tightening in 2025. With your permission, I’d like to feature a few of your stories in an upcoming video to help raise awareness and spark conversation within the RV community.

Feel free to share below, or DM me if you prefer. You can also check out our channel, Ramblin Reflections, for more RV lifestyle tips and stories.

Thanks for being part of the journey—looking forward to hearing from you all!

Happy camping,
Steve / RamblinReflect

  • I've never encountered it personally but I have seen it brought up in discussions. I guess private campgrounds can implement whatever restrictions they want but if I had an older RV but kept it in meticulous shape, it would bother me. Do you have the opportunity to state your case to the CG owner? Seems they want to discourage ratty old RVs but if yours was in good shape I feel like it could be overcome with simple communication. Restored Vintage RVs would be a good example.

Yeah, we asked about the policy and they said it applied to rigs 10 years and older. 10 years and older rigs required you submit a current photo with the reservation request.
