Many people are "allergic" to the materials used in the manufacture of RVs -AND- autos and trucks - even when they are EPA and CARB compliant.
Formaldehyde is one.
OP - Best solution is look for a clean unit a couple of years old.
"Orion": A friend has to do same when purchasing "new" cars - new is NG. It has nothing to do with being "environmentally conscious".
Has to be about 2 years old for "emissions" used in upholstery to be completely gone/dissipated .
It is what it is.
