With an older unit, they are more apt to have hidden mold issues. My guess is that would out weigh any gains in decreased construction material emmisions.
I have heard about that issue. What causes the mold?
Unlike a brick and stick home, (unless you live in California) a RV is constantly being bounced and jostled. Eventually, they will all develop a leak somewhere. If the leak goes unnoticed and thus unrepaired, moisture enters the unit and mold follows. Also, RVs stored in moist environments, without ventilation, will get internal condensation, which again results in the growth of mold. Cleaning up mold doesn't completely eliminate the microscopic spores. Those spores are what attack people with respritory issues or allergies.
