Heartland warranty

Hello fellow campers;

I'm newly retired and purchased a fithwheeler, a greystone by Heartland. Image my shock when my nine month old rv sprung a leak. I contacted Camping World, where I purchased the rv. I was advised to take the rv in for repair. Heartland refused to make any repairs to my roof. Service dept also discovered a problem with the slideouts. The repairs on slideouts require 22 hours of labor.
Heartland will only authorize 8 hours of labor.
At this point or in the future, I will never deal with Heartland again. Has anyone ever had this warranty problem with Heartland?

  • Are you close the Brunswick? Perhaps you could attend the GA. rally to be held in March. Or at least speak to the people setting up the rally to see if any factory reps will be attending. May be worth you time.

  • I agree with something sounding off. My first though was a fishing for work call into the factory from CW. Had you noticed anything wrong with the slides?
    My parents Sundance was Out Of Warranty by three weeks when a Delam problem was noticed and they requested pictures and then wanted the trailer back at the factory and replaced all the skin on the camper. Also fixed several problems that were grinding my moms gears, towed it out there and back all at Heartlands expense. Oh, did I mention it was Out Of Warranty?
    Something doesn't sound right about your situation.
  • What kind of problem did you have with the slide?

  • Two weeks before my warranty ran out I noticed bubbles on the roof where the adhesive had let loose. My dealer called Heartland and it was okayed and fixed within a week. I give all the credit to my dealer handling this for me.
  • HEARTLAND owner here. I have heard of others having problems but were directed to HEARTLAND instead of dealer and got results. Check out the heartland owners forum and there is lots of help and plenty of info available there. You can even contact the factory from there. I've had small issues and no trouble with fixes.
  • Thanks for responding
    I contacted heartland today they really did not want to talk about it, and acted like I was the problem. I purchase this RV because I was told that heartland work with their customers after the purchase. That is not true.
  • Something sounds off to me. Heartland was very reasonable to work with for any warranty issues we had. I agree with the other posters...call Heartland directly and get information straight from the source.
  • Call Heartland direct and speak to their service department.Have your Vin.# ready. Their service is one of the best. Do not take the dealers word on what the manufacture is or isn't doing.Call Heartland.
  • Every issue I have had has been fully repaired and in a timely mannor. As for labor rates they are only going to pay a reasonable amount to do a specfic job. Because a dealer wants 22 hours to do a job does not mean it will take 22 hours.
