Help from those with Super Glide using Slip Plate

My Superglide 4100 uses Slip Plate (actually, I use another graphite paint called EZ-Slide).

I've thought about converting to the plastic wear plates, but even then don't you have to use a light oil application to the way tubes? To me, this is not much improvement over using the graphite paint.
