All of you have brought up valid points. Thank you. The TT has sway control with a Hensley Hitch. My husband says he feels the pull of the big rigs going by on the interstate. We did have a GMC V-8, either a 5.2 or .3 engine. However, my husband was not happy that he could not cruise at an even speed (always shifting on the hills),the hilly highways where we live in the northeast. Soooo, he traded for a Silverado 250 Diesel. He's more of a happy camper now that he can use cruise control with the diesel and NO problems with hills. However, he still feels that the TT does not tow behind as well as the 5th wheel we had years ago.
We are looking to take cross country trips, not just local, 3-4 hour trips. The farthest the TT was towed was to Cape Cod, which is about a 300 mile trip.
We are looking at purchasing a 27-29 ft. 5th wheel. Right now we are undecided if it would really be worth the trade-up at a dealership.
