I might have a chance to purchase a "new" 2012 Coachmen Brookstone 290LS Ruby. This 5th wheel is suppose to be a new unit from a dealer.
1. What is the Good, bad and ugly concerning this 5th wheel?
2. What price should I be looking at to pay out? Can't bring up used RV on Kelly Blue Book for some reason.
If I purchase it; I would have to arrange to have it delivered from great lakes area to Oregon.
3.What to you think about purchasing a RV from across the country? The deal said that they will deliver it from across the country at about $1.18 per mile.
4. What should I look out for and to help safe guard me?
Anything could be of help.

1) We like our Brookstone. We had about as many issues as we did with our much smaller Keystone Passport Superlite 199ML. So if I were you, I would see if anyone lived close to the dealer and could give it a once over. Really, though, if your going to buy it, don't buy it unseen. It's worth the cost to go visit it yourself. Just consider it a cost of doing business with the dealer.
2) We purchased our 2011, in November 2011 (thus a left over model) and paid about 58% of MSRP. Generally we found current year models (of most makes) were about 60% of MSRP and if you ordered one, about 65% of MSRP as the prices quoted here in Michigan. Research online for MSRP's of that model around the country and see if you think your getting what you should.
3) No idea on price. But I wouldn't ship it, until I saw it, documented it (with pics) and got a reputable firm that will stand behind if they damage it.
4)See above.
Is it this one?: 290LS
Interior looks very similar to ours. I like that interior, not too light or too dark. The dining chairs are comfortable, the couch and other chairs cushy. The cabinets are solid.
Good luck.
