Where does Chevrolet specify 3000 pin weight, I believe you are reading between the lines. if axle is rated at 6200 docent mean rest of truck is. Some states different to others.
Frank.
On page 9-89 of my manual us lists 2500 fifth-wheel goosneck @3000 lbs.
GM commercial sales brochure max payload @ 2,950 lbs and various searches on the net. I always find the pin weight capacity about 3,000 lbs. But that would exceed the GVWR. So confused.
And also on page 9-89 it states:
Trailer rating may be limited by the vehicle's ability to carry tongue weight. Tongue or kingpin weight cannot cause the vehicle to exceed the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) or the RGAWR (Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating).
See“ Total Weight on the Vehicle's Tires” later in this section. And then there is STILL the fine print on 'weight charts':

Maximum trailer weight ratings are calculated assuming a base vehicle, except for any option(s) necessary to achieve the rating, plus driver. The weight of other optional equipment, passengers and cargo will reduce the maximum trailer weight your vehicle
can tow. As others have posted...........YELLOW Sticker Data
