HELP PLEASE!! Stranded in Jasper, GA

Towing our 5er to our newly purchased lot in Choestoe Falls RV community we broke down in Jasper, 41 miles short of our destination. Suspect trash in fuel lines. Thanks to Good Sam roadside assistance, we got the truck to a dealership after hours. They said they will “try to look at it tomorrow”. Tow truck driver was awesome, but due to various snafus, we didn’t get out of the cold for over six hours. Trouble is, the only motel that would allow our little dog is a terrible place. It’s a real flea bag dump. Our “non smoking” room reeks out loud of stale cigarette smoke. Really bad. My wife and I both have bad headaches. Because this all started at closing time for businesses, we are pretty much stuck. If we can’t find a tow company, or truck rental with a hitch in the morning, we will be stuck here till at least Friday. (unless Shottenkirk Ford is able to get the truck fixed), We will gladly pay anyone able to come tow our rig the 41 miles to Choestoe Falls so we can get out of this nasty place. It’s now 3:30 AM. ANYBODY?
  • Can also check w/ your destination to see if they have any other RVers that could come and tow your rig along w/ yourselves.
  • I am confused, why wasn't a tow truck called for the RV also??? This is not that unusual to to a 5er.

Many tow companies simply lift the front of the truck and tow the combo.
  • I would like to assist if possible. I have sent you a PM with my contact email. Let me know, thank you.
  • I,d rent a car cheapest way out of this. then you can find a better place. good luck. if you were close to canton ohio ,I,d come help you out.
  • That was my question, too. Where is your rig and would it be possible to stay in it? Enterprise advertises that they will bring a car to you. There is a LaQuinta 27 miles away in Calhoun. They take pets and are very nice and normally have a breakfast. If you can get there, that would at least be nicer accommodations.

  • Where is your camper setting? Can it be left there on a temporary basis?

I would get a read out from the dealer and go from there. Maybe the dealer has a loaner for a few bucks or freebie and let you get on down the road if there is gonna be a delay in getting your truck going. :h
  • What a pain.

Find a local RV place. They often have people that can tow for you. My grandson owns a trailer and has his towed twice. The cost was very reasonable and the man did a great job.

Call your lot people. They may have a list.

My uncle used to do this.

Rent a car. Many will come pick you up. Find a decent place with the sun coming up soon.

Break downs can be very stressful as I know personally.
